Holiday fashion trends

Being fashionable and stylish does not necessarily mean one has to feel uncomfortable; it’s important to be able to completely enjoy oneself and move freely whatever the occasion.

Even though most of us ladies have this motto: “It hurts to look good” (I myself am guilty of this) — especially when it comes to stilettos or figure hugging garments (who can resist?).  Let’s leave those outfits for the big evenings out and those ‘once-a-blue-moon’ occasions, and for now focus on looking good and feeling good this holiday season.

Better to live by late fashion icon, Coco Chanel’s words: “Luxury must be comfortable, otherwise it is not luxury” .

Here are our top fashion favourites for the holidays

Batwing, Off-shoulder and Shoulder-slit Tops

Multi-purpose is what we were looking for, and we found it in these attractive yet comfortable tops.  The off-shoulder, loose-fit top looks absolutely fab with skinny jeans or shorts, especially teamed up with a pair of flats or sandals for day wear, a trip to the beach, shop, movies, sundowners; now that’s stylishly casual.  Add some accessories and black

skinny pants or your favourite sexy skinny jeans to the shoulder-slit top, and the result is a comfortable and good looking outfit for a night out.  Go on, have fun!

Maxi Dresses

Nothing shouts “I love summer” more than a colourful and breathable maxi dress paired with a pair of T-strap or Gladiator sandals. Also another multi-purpose garment, the maxi dress is ideal for day-wear together with your favourite pair of sandals, over sized sunglasses and a boho style sling bag.  Pair a maxi dress with kitten heels, and you have yourself a smart casual outfit.

Jumpsuits and Playsuits

It’s back — out with the old, and in with the old!  Who would’ve thought?  As seen on runways throughout 2012 (and we’re still seeing them on runways); seems like this one, like skinny jeans, is here to stay a while.  And we must admit, it sure looks good.  Easy to wear, comfortable, breathable; free-style at it’s best — definitely a ” Summer lovin’ ” must-have. Jumpsuits and playsuits are available in different cuts and colours for any occasion.

Smaller Handbags

Oversized bags can be packed away right now! Who wants to carry all the baggage around when on holiday or having fun?  (Except if it’s a beach bag of course).  The most recommended handbag this festive season is the sling / crossbody bag and, of course, the draw-string type too.  Easy and safe to carry around, enabling us to only carry the basic eve

ryday necessities, crossbody bags are available in small and medium sizes. Remember, the bigger the bag, the more clutter we carry around with us.
