Grading notes in South Africa

It’s finally here!

We are all aware of the note grading companies overseas. The problem with overseas grading is the cost due to the rand/dollar rate, the time it takes to send out and receive and of course, the shipping costs. All in all it would be easier if we could do it here.

Well now we can. SANGS (South African Numismatic Grading Service) has finally started to grade notes from all over the world. This makes for a much quicker and cheaper way for all us numismatics dealers to do our grading. The sleeves that the notes are in are much firmer than other graded notes as SANGS has decided to use one that is perspex based. The border of the notes is also thicker which means less bending when we send them out or keep in a box. The information on the notes is the same as others with small differences.

Grading services for notes started in April 2016, and is now available to the public. For prices, please contact SANGS directly.
