The latest instalment of the ever popular Call of Duty franchise has arrived. Sporting a brand new physics and gameengine, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare takes place in the year 2054 and supposedly boasts real world tech and weapons posited to be available to the military in that period.
The game sees the player joining the Atlas Corporation – a powerful, private military organization – after he loses both his left arm and best friend fighting with the marines in Seoul. He is rewarded by the company’s CEO and founder Johnathon Irons (voiced by, and modelled on, Kevin Spacey) with a bionic limb and has become part of a force tasked with taking down the Luddite, technophobic terrorist group called the KVA that has been attacking nuclear facilities. As the gameprogresses, it becomes apparent that neither the terrorists nor Atlas are what they seem.
Gamers can tackle missions with future tech weapons and facilities, including plasma and energy weapons and host of new grenades. Audio has been overhauled to make the sounds in Advance Warfare far more immersive. The graphics are the best yet of any Call of Duty game featuring almost photo realistic environments and facial animations as real as any movie CGI.
