Have the time of your life experiencing the scenic beauty of the Western Cape from 23 to 30 March 2014 at the annual stage race. Qhubeka is auctioning one team entry for the 2014 Absa Cape Epic on bidorbuy, and the auction closes on 27 November. Do note that you are expected to pay more – hopefully, much more – than the indicative market price of R45,900.

Firstly, because Qhubeka is a non-profit organisation and all the money over and above the indicative market price goes towards giving people bicycles in return for work done to improve communities, the environment or for academic results.

Secondly, because this may be your last chance to enter the 2014 Absa Cape Epic. Most of the entries have been sold out, and Qhubeka as one of the event’s partner charities holds one of the very last tickets to the 2014 Absa Cape Epic.

So, get bidding!

Also known as one of the most sophisticated yet gruelling mountain bike race of all time, the Absa Cape Epic attracts thousands of bike riders from all over the world. The riders, some professional and some aspiring amateurs, participate in the race in teams of two. There are five categories, namely, Men, Ladies, Mixed, Masters and Grand Masters. Rules state that team members have to race together for the entire distance of the race, looking after each other and their equipment. This unique team concept was developed because the stage racing often takes riders through some very remote areas, and so having a partner who can look after you if the need rises is an important safety consideration.
