Join the South African Mint at the one-day Johannesburg Coin Show, to be held at the Michelangelo Hotel in Sandton on Sunday 14 July 2013 from 10AM to 4PM.
This is the biggest annual gathering of South African numismatist. A variety of rare and collectable coins, medals and notes will be on display and for sale. You will also be able to get free coin and medal evaluations and expert advice. The show will be of interest to coin dealers, collectors of coins and medals, and everyone with a passion for history.
Entrance is free, so, if in Gauteng, make a note to visit the SA Mint Johannesburg Coin Show on 14 July, and bring your family along for a fun day out.

Krugerrand Series
All proof Krugerrands made by the South African Mint are encapsulated and sold with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity in limited editions.
Natura Series: The Zebra
In 2013, the SA Mint celebrated the 20-year history of the unique Natura coin series.
Crown & Tickey
The sterling silver R2 Crown and 2 ½ c Tickey were re-introduced as a combined commemorative coin series in 1997. The latest theme in this series is called Trains of South Africa. In 2012, the first of the trains to be portrayed was The Gautrain, and Diesel Electric Locomotives is the next train theme to be featured.
Silver Coin Series
This year sees the launch of a new conservation theme, South Africa’s Marine Protected Areas (MPAs). The two 2013 coins depict the St Lucia MPA and the Maputaland MPA.
The 2013 releases also include three medallion ranges: EWT, Big 5 Gold Range and Big 5 Silver Range.
