Extra chairs had to be brought in. The time allocated had to be exceeded. The participants were as eager to talk as they were to listen.
All in all, last week’s bidorbuy selling seminar was an unmitigated success, notwithstanding the somewhat erratic behavior of a temperamental hot water dispenser during the tea break. Taylor-made for the sellers new to the world of online auctions, Johan du Toit’s presentation unveiled a trick or two even old hands would be glad to know. Topics included:
- Where to source the products for bidorbuy online actions
- Which items are the top sellers at bidorbuy
- What encourages more online shopping
- Why sellers should (sometimes) offer money-back guaranteesPlus, many more.
Since the interest for the last week’s seminar exceeded the seating capacity of bidorbuy‘s meeting room, not one, but two seminars have been scheduled for for 24 July 2008: one starting at noon, and the other starting at 6:30 in the evening. The evening seminar will be welcomed by the sellers who have a day job.
Prior to that, bidorbuy’s tireless Johan du Toit* will hop to Cape Town to help Capetonians hone their selling skills on 3rd July. The Durbanites will have their turn on the 10th of July in two shifts: the noon and the evening one.
