Apple iPhone 11

Even if you are not an early adopter, the news of the latest iPhone model will most likely send shivers of excitement down your spine. After all, we are used to having good things come from Apple with (practically) every new release of their iconic smartphone.

The iPhone 11, set to be launched later today (10 September), will probably come in three versions – likely to be dubbed 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max. All three are expected to have upgraded cameras, with enhanced picture-taking capabilities and an even better image processor. The two higher-end models will feature a triple-lens camera.

The camera improvements account for the biggest change in the looks of the new iPhone 11 range. While the front remains pretty much the same, the two higher-end versions of the iPhone 11 have a bigger square protrusion in the back, to hold those fancy cameras. The most affordable iPhone 11 model is upgraded with a dual-lens camera.

According to the information available prior to the official launch, the three iPhone 11 versions will come in 5.8, 6.5, and 6.1-inch size screens. The screens are made out of more shatter-resistant glass with a matte finish, instead of the glossy aesthetic of the previous model.

Some of the new features include bilateral wireless charging, which means that you will be able to transfer power between two iPhone handsets, or charge the Apple Watch from the iPhone. The new models should also be bundled with the 18W USB-C power cable for faster charging.

The battery life of all three iPhone 11 models has been improved to accommodate the more powerful cameras.

The industry expects that the basic model of the iPhone 11 will hit the retail shelves on 20 September, with pre-orders going live on 13 September. The higher-end versions will probably be available a month later.

To the joy of early adopters, bidorbuy is expected to be (again) one of the first with the goodies. The past experience with “the first in South Africa” iPhone models shows that South Africans are ready to pay a premium price for the privilege of owning the latest release before (practically) anyone else in the country. So, if you belong to this group, keep your eyes glued to our Apple smartphone section, or simply do a search for iPhone 11.

Of course, the release of the iPhone 11 is good news for you even if you are not an early adapter, because it means that you will be able to lay your hands on an older iPhone model at a reduced price.

In any case, get ready to shop!
