Fashion on the weekend: going picnicking

Date

If this weekend calls for a lazy picnic in the park, the most important thing is to be comfortable; there’s no point going out to play in the sun if you’re not going to be comfortable. But that doesn’t mean you don’t have to look good.

As you can see, I’ve gone for a feminine vintage-feel with the hat+scarf combo, the cateyes and the brooch, but that’s just because I associate picnicking with good, wholesome fun.

Pack a basket full of goodies, throw on a pretty-comfy dress (like the one in the look page made of hardy denim), grab some sunglasses, add an accessory, don’t forget a hat to protect you from the sun and how sweet are these shoes?

Tips:

  1. Don’t go for too much shine, glitter or gloss rather keep it natural and fresh
  2. Stay away from dark colours; they make you overheat and they look dull in the sunshine
  3. Stick to hardy, earthy materials like cotton and denim
  4. Leather flats or sandals are the best kinds of shoes to picnic in
