My Broadband team recently measured loading times of several prominent South African web sites, using Firebug and Pingdom Tools. To measure the “local” loading time, they first loaded all the sites in Firefox and then tested the time it took to load on the second visit. “This method”, they say, “ensures that web sites which use good client side caching get the credit they deserve.”
