How to charge your phone fast!

Date

We have all experienced that terrible feeling when you need your smartphone right this second, but its still charging. These days, our lives sometimes revolve around these little smart devices too much. For example, you have to make a call urgently or your phone died in the middle of an important text message… these are things we can all relate to. This blog post is here to give you some tips on how to charge your smartphone – fast!

1. Switch to airplane mode

Using airplane mode will allow your phone to charge faster because it makes sure that the apps and programmes that normally run in the background without your knowledge won’t use your battery and drain it while you are trying to charge it quickly. Not sure how to activate airplane mode? One tap is all you need to ensure your phone is in airplane mode. For iOS users, swipe up from the bottom of your screen and tap on the icon that looks like an airplane. For Android users, swipe down from the top of your screen and tap on the airplane symbol.

2. Opt for the mains

Have you noticed that when you charge your phone using a USB cable connected to either your computer or any external device it will take a lot longer than if you were to charge your phone using a wall socket (mains) power adapter? Ever wondered why? Well, this is because USB ports provide between 2.5W and 4.5W of power in comparison to 5W (minimum) power you get from a wall socket. When it comes to charging speed, avoid wireless chargers. There is nothing wrong with them, but they take much longer to charge your device.

3. Turn your phone off

As tempting as it is, touching your phone or even lighting up the screen takes up some power, so either leave your phone alone while it is charging or switch it off completely. Switching it off will allow the phone to charge even faster and it will eliminate the temptation to use it while charging.

4. Buy a power bank

You can get some pretty great power banks out there. Some can even charge your phone faster than a wall socket power adapter. Do some research and find the one suitable for you. Either way, a power bank is a handy thing to have in case of emergencies; just make sure you charge your power bank… otherwise you will be left with two useless devices.

Hopefully, these tips will come in handy one day, when you find yourself in a sticky situation and need your phone charged quickly.
