Make the Easter holidays fly by with kids’ activities

Date

If you’re a parent, you’ll be looking forward to more time with your kids over the Easter holidays (and no school run for a few weeks). At the same time, you’re probably also wondering how you’ll keep them entertained, without resorting to more screentime. That’s where our list of top 10 tips for Easter holiday activities for kids is sure to come in handy.

  1. Gotta find ‘em all

An Easter egg hunt is the classic kids’ activity for the Easter holidays. You can do this outside if you have a garden or patio, or inside. All you’ll need is some chocolate eggs of different sizes, and a basket per child for them to collect their treats in. Just be sure to remember where you hid each egg – otherwise you’ll be finding melted chocolate blobs in unusual spots for months to come. If you have kids of different ages, it’s a nice idea to make some of the hidden eggs more obvious, so that younger children don’t feel left out.

  1. Getting crafty with it

The possibilities with arts and crafts are almost endless – with basic craft materials from Bob Shop, your kids can let their imaginations run wild as they paint, sew, stick and craft. Why not give them a theme to inspire them, or offer a prize for the most creative effort?

  1. Board games

After a busy day, you can slow things down with a board game – especially if it’s one the whole family can play. Games have come a long way in the last few years, and you may be surprised at the variety on offer, including role-playing games and games with a narrative thread that you can play across several days or evenings.

  1. Building toys

With so many different metal, wood and plastic building toys available these days, you’re bound to find a set that will appeal to every kid. From architecture to space to trains and planes, your children can either build a model to treasure, or one that they can take apart so that they can create something entirely new. After all, the instructions that come with building toys are not rules, they’re suggestions!

  1. Indoor gardening

By Easter, we may be heading into winter, but that doesn’t mean that indoor gardening can’t be a thing. With a few plant pots, some seeds, and basic gardening tools, your kids can experience the magic of watching new plants grow. You can even choose herb or vegetable seeds so that eventually, your kids will be able to enjoy eating what they’ve grown.

  1. Making a movie

If your kids have smartphones, they can have fun making a movie – either a remake of one of their favourite films, a sequel, or something entirely new. They can star in their movie themselves, or use their toys or action figures as the characters.

  1. Caring for a pet

Pets offer your kids so much: fun, companionship and a sense of responsibility. Of course we don’t sell real live pets on Bob Shop, but we do have great deals on everything you need to feed, care for and spoil your fur baby

  1. Start a collection

Collections let your kids express their individualities and explore their passions. The best thing about collections is that they’re completely personal. It’s something your kids can do for themselves, and they can expand their collection whenever they’re ready. As they get older, collections can be a great way to make friends and connect with other people who share their interests.

  1. Cook up a storm

Kids love to cook! And while their first attempts might be more messy than delicious, they’ll soon get to a point where they can make treats and then full meals, saving you time and effort… With any luck, they might even do the washing up afterwards! Find all the kitchen utensils and gadgets they’ll need on Bob Shop.
