However, that does not mean that your favourite online shopping spot has lost its taste for fun. On the contrary. At the ripe age of 16, bidorbuy is as fun loving as bidorbuy of yore, if not even more! (Proof: we even rhyme.)

Being generous to boot, we want to share this 16th birthday celebration with the most important people in bidorbuy’s life: you. And when we say you, we mean all of you: buyers, sellers, and visitors too.

This is how you can join the celebration, plus stand a chance to win your share of R16,000:

Post your favourite bidorbuy moment on our Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram page. It can be a couple of sentences, a short poem, a video, photograph, drawing… and always include this hashtag: #bidorbuy16.

This is how we will reward you:

Every (working) day for two weeks we will look for the hashtag #bidorbuy16, choose our favourite and give the author a R1000 bobBucks voucher.

And this is how we will reward you some more:

Every now and then, when feeling extra generous, we will throw in consolation prizes. Twelve R500 bobBucks vouchers will be scattered on bidorbuy’s Facebook, Twitter and or Instagram. The first to see it and claim it, wins it. (Tip: time is of vital importance, so register on bidorbuy before you start the hunt!)

Total prize pool is R16,000, and you can win more than once. Just post diligently!

How to celebrate bidorbuy’s 16th and stand in line to win:

• This competition is open from 3 to 16 August 2015.
• To enter, post an entry on social platforms to say happy birthday to bidorbuy and include the hashtag #bidorbuy16.
  • Twitter: Use #bidorbuy16 and @bidorbuy_co_za.
  • Facebook: Use #bidorbuy16 and post your comment under the relevant post.
  • Instagram: Use #bidorbuy16 and tag bidorbuy Instagram account.
• The entries can be in the form of a story, poem, video, photograph, or a drawing.
• You may post one entry per day per platform.
• We will choose one winner every day on weekdays. On weekends, there will be one winner and announcement will be made on the following working day.
• Winners will be chosen from one of the social media platforms mentioned in line 2.
• The best social media post wins a R1,000 bobBucks voucher. There will be ten winning social media posts.
• We will also award twelve spot prizes, bonus prizes and random giveaways to the value of R500 each.
• bobBucks can only be spent on www.bidorbuy.co.za and are not exchangeable for cash.
• Winners will be announced 24 hours after the end of the competition period.
• Winners will be contacted via social media. To claim their prize, winners need to email promotion@bidorbuy.co.za with their bidorbuy user name within three days of the announcement.
